One to one

Individual therapy

For adults who want the whole hour for themselves, or who are not yet ready to speak in front of a group.

  • Day and time

Weekdays until 8 p.m. and Saturday mornings, by appointment.

  • Who sees you

Any of our seven clinicians. You choose after intake, with our help.

  • Where

In person in Greensboro, or by video if you are in North Carolina during the session.

Sessions

What a session looks like

  • 01

    You say what you want

Your clinician asks what brought you to look for therapy and what you hope will be different.

  • 02

    You talk

Sessions are conversation, sometimes with an exercise to try before the next one.

  • 03

    You decide what next

At the end of each session you and your clinician agree on how to use the next one.

How we work

The method

Our clinicians use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy skills (DBT) and interpersonal approaches. Each clinician's page says how they work, and in your first session they explain it again, in their own words.

Plainly

What this is not

  • Not medication

None of our clinicians prescribes. If you want to talk about medication, we help you find a prescriber.

  • Not a crisis service

If you are in crisis, call or text 988. Between sessions we cannot respond right away.

  • Not for children or teenagers

Vessel sees adults, 18 and over.

Time and money

How long, how often, and how it is paid

  • Length and frequency

Usually weekly, 50 minutes. Your clinician sets the pace with you, and we do not promise a number of sessions.

  • How it is paid

Insurance, paying yourself and reduced-fee spots are explained on one page. Your fee is given in writing before you start.

Questions

Questions about one-to-one sessions

Can I switch from individual sessions to a group?

Yes. Many members begin one to one. Tell your clinician when you are ready and they will help with the next start date.

Can I choose my clinician?

Yes. At intake you say what matters to you, and we suggest one or two clinicians.

Do you offer sessions in Spanish?

Juanita Aguirre offers individual sessions in Spanish and in English. The groups meet in English.

Ready to start with intake?

Intake is a 50-minute first visit with one clinician. You choose a first step together.
